About Me
After graduating from the University of Manchester in Politics and Philosophy, I pursued journalism, a field which seemed like a natural progression. Just after I started my Master’s course at Leeds Trinity, I broke my knee and was unable to attend lectures for several months.
Luckily, I was allowed to study from home, and upon returning, I was brimming with pent-up energy. I spent the next year studying hard, often out and about in the community interviewing, recording, and writing. After plenty of media law memorisation and shorthand practice, I graduated with a distinction in Journalism in December of 2025.
Alongside my studies, I volunteered at YO1 Radio, where I was given the opportunity to produce Jonathan Cowap’s Morning Edition, the daily morning show. My role involved researching, sourcing, and interviewing local people with stories that fit the station’s audience. I became proficient in audio editing and copywriting, and confident shaping conversations into engaging broadcast content.
I now work as a freelance broadcast journalist at RadioNewsHub, where I produce, write, and voice news bulletins for over 400 stations across the UK. The role has strengthened my ability to work quickly and accurately, adapt to breaking news, and communicate clearly to a wide audience. It has also given me experience working across different formats, from rolling news to longer-form programmes.
I am creative and capable, but above all curious. I enjoy speaking to people from all walks of life and finding the stories that sit just beneath the surface. I’m particularly interested in audio as a medium, and in creating content that feels both thoughtful and accessible.
